Open-ended answer counter
Paste the written replies to one question. See what people said, how many said it, and the replies behind each count.
How do you count open-ended survey answers?
The short answer: Read every reply, give each one a short label for what the person said or wants, then count the labels. Put one-offs in Other. The biggest count is usually where to start, and the replies under it tell you what to fix.
A language model reads the replies and puts each one under a short label. It never writes the numbers. Our server counts the replies under each label and checks that every reply sits under exactly one, so the counts always add up to what you pasted.
FAQ
How does the answer counter work?
A language model reads your replies and puts each one under a short label for what the person said. It only names the labels. Our server counts the replies under each one and checks every reply sits under exactly one label, so the numbers always add up.
Do you store the replies I paste?
No. The replies go to our server and to the model provider to be counted, then they're gone. We don't save them, and our logs only keep how many replies you sent and how long it took.
How many replies can I count?
Up to 100 replies and 12,000 characters at a time, and a few runs an hour. That's enough for one question from a small survey. If you have more, count a sample, or run the survey in Enform.
Are the labels always right?
They're a fast first read, not a final answer. Open each label to see the exact replies under it, and move on if one looks off. Replies that fit nowhere go under Other.
How is this different from Enform?
This tool counts one list you paste once. Enform runs the survey for you, reads every reply as it comes in, keeps the counts up to date, and shows the replies behind each count across all your questions.
